MTA Subway & PATH Service Changes
July 3: MTA Subway will operate on a Saturday schedule
July 4: Subway A, C, F, N, 2 and 4 lines will run extra services in the late afternoon and early evening.
- β Subway 2 and 3 trains will not stop at Clark Street, from Jul 4, 7:45 PM to 11:00 PM.
- Bypass times are subject to change due to crowd conditions at the station.
π July 3: PATH trains will run on a modified Saturday schedule
β Journal Square-33 Street (via Hoboken) and Newark-World Trade Center lines in service.
Bus & Ferry Service Changes
π July 3: New York City buses will operate on a Saturday schedule
π§ July 4: Expect stops near the FDR Drive and Lower Manhattan to be suspended and detoured, from Jul 4-5, Fri 5:00 PM to Sat 1:00 AM.
β΄οΈ July 3: NYC Ferry will operate on a Modified Holiday Schedule
β οΈJuly 4: NYC Ferry routes will end service early around 3:00 PM, in advance of the 4th of July Fireworks Show.
π Recommended for getting to the Fireworks
This year’s Fireworks show will begin at around 9:25 PM, from both the Lower East River & the Lower Hudson River.
Manhattan Viewing:
- Subway: Take the F, N, Q, R, W, 4, 5 or 6 trains to stations near the lower East River waterfront (e.g., Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall, Chambers St, or Broadway-Lafayette).
- For the Lower Hudson River, take the 1, 2, 3, A, C, or E to stations near Canal St, Houston St, or Christopher St.
Jersey City Viewing:
- PATH: Take the PATH train to the Exchange Place station for prime waterfront viewing.
- Light Rail: Use the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail to the Exchange Place or Marin Boulevard stops.
