TfL Data Outage: What We're Doing About It

If you thought getting back to school or work in this Arctic cold was tough, imagine being TfL and dealing with a data outage on September 1st! Yes, what a way to start the month.

As a result, several data feeds that power our app have been disrupted.

✅ The app is still fully functional and remains your best bet for getting around.

🚇 Tube Times

Instead of live Tube arrival times, you’ll see scheduled Tube departure times. Don’t worry—there’s usually a train arriving within minutes, so you can still use these times to plan your journey effectively.

🚌 Bus Locations

Real-time bus locations are currently unavailable on the map. However, real-time arrival times are still available, so you’ll know exactly when your bus is due.

🚴‍♀️ Santander Bikes

The number of available bikes and free spots at bike stations may be off. Nevertheless, you'll almost always find a bike or dock, and if not, you can check Nearby bike stations in the app.

🚀 We're fixing it!

We might be known for pushing the boundaries at Citymapper, so we've worked tirelessly to implement some solutions:

  1. 🎉 Live data restored for part of the Bakerloo Line. The trains might be old, but at least they’ve got live data back!
  2. 🚌 Real-time bus location: We know you love this perk so we’re working on an alternative way to show this.
  3. 🤝 Direct contact with TfL: We’re in touch with TfL to get real-time updates and restore other data feeds as quickly as possible.

Rest assured: no Citymapper customer data has been compromised—your personal info is safe.
