⚠️ No Northern Line on Bank branch for 17 weeks
Due to improvement works at Bank & Monument Station, there will be no Northern Line at:
- Bank
- London Bridge
- Borough
- Elephant & Castle
From January 15th to mid-May
(17 weeks)
Due to the affected 4 stations, there will be fewer Northern Line trains between Camden Town and Moorgate and other lines and stations will be exceptionally busy.
To help people travel during this period, there are some additional services in place:
- More frequent trains on the Charing Cross branch of the Northern Line
- More buses, with a temporary new route from Oval into the City (Route 733)
- More staff across the network to support customers
Our app is up to date
Plan your trips normally, our app will get you to your destination using only the routes that are not disrupted.
OK, fine.
But what's in it for me, you ask?
Bank and Monument together are used by more than 120 million passengers in a normal year.
Improving the station is critical for London's growth, increasing the station's capacity by 💪 40%.
The interlinked stations will feature several new escalators, a new station entrance and more room for Northern line passengers.
Here's a nice summary of the project:
And some more visual details, for you station design connoisseurs out there...
You can find more info on the project's progress here
We'll keep our app up to date as the project unfolds.
