Our routes are wheelchair-accessible, and also work for users with luggage or prams.
Our step-free routes avoid any stairs or wide gaps throughout the whole journey.
We route you to the right station entrances and exits.
We avoid complicated transfers.
We avoid wide gaps between the train and the platform.
We adjust walking times for people with reduced mobility.
Routes prioritise simplicity over travel times.
We've also reprogrammed our routing engine so that it learns new priorities.
We're sorry it's taken a long time for us to launch step-free routes. We did not historically feel comfortable with the quality of data, and did not wish to recommend routes that might leave someone in a bad situation, especially those with accessibility needs.
Train stations are complicated! So we've done a lot of work collecting and curating data for 250+ stations, and built a new system around it.
And, of course, we worked with the community.
